Oppenhomies: Murphy and Downey Jr scoop Baftas

Irish actor Cillian Murphy and American actor Robert Downey Jr have both claimed top honours at the prestigious Bafta awards in London.

Murphy, known for his roles in hit TV show Peaky Blinders and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, took home the award for Best Actor for his performance in the film A Quiet Place.

Meanwhile, Downey Jr, best known for his portrayal of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film The Way Back.

The Baftas, which celebrate excellence in the film and television industries, were hosted by comedian and talk show host Graham Norton at the Royal Festival Hall.

Congratulations to Murphy and Downey Jr on their well-deserved wins!
