London Court Greenlights Facebook £3bn Lawsuit

Facebook £3bn legal action given go-ahead in London

A high court judge has granted a group of more than 1 million Facebook users permission to bring a £3bn legal claim against the social media giant in London for allegedly harvesting their data without consent.

The lawsuit, led by former Cambridge Analytica director Brittany Kaiser, alleges that Facebook allowed third-party developers to access users’ data without their permission and failed to take sufficient steps to protect their privacy.

The decision to allow the case to proceed marks a significant milestone in the ongoing battle over data privacy and user consent in the digital age.

Facebook has denied any wrongdoing and pledged to “vigorously defend” itself against the claims.
